Construction work is progressing well at new housing development in Golcar, where the first homes are nearing completion.
Jones Homes is building 19 new homes at Century View, off Swallow Lane and the first residents are set to move in spring 2020.
Eleven of the 19 properties were sold off-plan ahead of the development’s launch and a further two have been reserved since the sales centre opened in September.
Century View, named due to its proximity to the village cricket field, will include a range of three-bedroom semi-detached and four-bedroom detached houses. Three of the homes have been designated as starter homes, which will be sold at a discounted price to first-time buyers who meet qualifying criteria.
Jayne Swift, Sales and Marketing Director at Jones Homes Yorkshire, said:
“We are pleased with the progress we are making at Century View and are looking forward to welcoming the first residents into their homes.
“The development generated a lot of interest right from the moment we announced our plans for century View, and the fact that more than half of the homes were reserved off-plan before the launch demonstrates just how popular the development has already proven to be. With just five properties remaining, we would advise anyone wanting a new home in Golcar to contact us now to avoid missing out.
“Jones Homes previously built 20 homes at Meadow View off Leymoor Road in Golcar. This development, which was completed in 2017, was especially popular because it offered the benefits of living in a new home without being part of a large estate and it appears the same will be true of Century View.
“The starter homes will be a real asset to the community. These homes will be sold at 20 per cent below the usual market value to people who could not otherwise afford to buy a home of their own. “There is a need for more new homes in Golcar and Jones Homes is committed to ensuring that these are delivered to the highest possible standards. The quality of build will be first class and the homes will be equipped with fixtures and fittings for which other developers would usually charge extra.”
