Dover District Council has granted planning permission for the latest expansion of the White Cliffs Business Park. The new Parkway Trade Park will be developed on a 0.7ha site adjacent to the Lidl supermarket on Honeywood Parkway at Whitfield and includes a drive-thru coffee shop, gym, and two trade counter units, along with new access and parking arrangements. The development is already 80% pre-let to tenants, including Costa Coffee, The Gym Group and Toolstation, and is expected to create 35 new jobs.
The mixed use development marks the third investment at the White Cliffs Business Park by Kent-based Location 3 Properties. The company also built the Honeywood Retail Park (B&M Stores, Pets at Home, Bensons for Beds, KFC), and the Trademarq Trade Park (Lok’nStore, Subway, Action Carpets, Brewers, Eurocell).
Colin Thacker, Managing Director at Location 3 Properties, said: “We’re delighted to be developing in Dover, building on the success of our developments in Whitfield. We’ve seen strong interest from potential tenants and are confident there’s more to come from this fantastic location.”
Cllr Trevor Bartlett, Leader of Dover District Council, said: “The White Cliffs Business Park is one of the district’s most important employment locations so it’s great to see Location 3 Properties once again investing at Whitfield and creating new jobs.
“With funding also recently secured for the development of the Dover Fastrack bus service to improve public transport connections between Whitfield, the town centre and Dover Priory railway station, I’m confident we’ll see further development.”
Construction of the new Parkway Trade Park is expected to start later this year.
