Bellway providing 335 new homes in Hatfield Peverel and investing more than £1.8 million in local area

Bellway is making a huge commitment to the village of Hatfield Peverel by building 335 new homes and contributing more than £1.8 millionto help improve local infrastructure and facilities.

The housebuilder is delivering 140 new homes at Priory Grange development, off Stone Path Drive, where the first homes are set to go on sale in April, and 145 properties at Hatfield Grove, off Station Road, half a mile away.

Plans have also been submitted for 50 more homes on land at Bury Farm in the village, which will form the second phase of Hatfield Grove.

As part of the planning agreements for the developments, the developer is contributing more than £1 millionfor Hatfield Grove and nearly £550,000for Priory Grange, as well as handing over an 8.7-acre plot of land to the parish council for use as community land. Bellway will also be contributing an extra £320,420 as part of the plans for the Bury Farm development.

Jenny Walker, Sales Director at Bellway Essex, said: “As a responsible developer, Bellway maintains an ethos of not only delivering much-needed new homes to a community but also creating a vibrant new neighbourhood which has a positive impact on the local area.

“Hatfield Peverel is a wonderful village with a very strong sense of community and we are very aware of the responsibility we have to deliver new developments which enhance their surroundings.

“A big part of our commitment to the village is that of the 335 new homes we are delivering, 132 of those will be affordable properties which means that local people will be able to find a new home in the village and stay close to their support network of family and friends.

“As well as this, as part of our planning agreements with Braintree District Council for all developments, Bellway will be contributing more than £1.8 million towards improving local infrastructure and facilities.

“This includes over £150,000 towards early years education and childcare and more than £650,000 towards primary schooling.

“Bellway will be contributing more than £100,000 towards the Sidney House GP surgery in Hatfield Peverel, with over £125,000 going towards healthcare in total.

“Sport and leisure is an important part of a healthy lifestyle and Bellway is contributing over £290,000 towards the provision of outdoor sports facilities.

“We hope that this range of contributions and improvements will prove to be part of a lasting legacy to the village.”

Work to deliver the new homes at Hatfield Grove, which is transforming a former dairy factory site in the village, is progressing well, while the first homes at Priory Grange will go on sale in April. Work will begin on the new homes at Bury Farm once plans have been approved by Braintree District Council.

Jenny said: “We have already experienced a high level of interest in the properties coming soon at Priory Grange. This strong demand is also reflected at Hatfield Grove, where there is currently a selection of three and four-bedroom homes available to reserve.”
