Regeneration and energy specialist, ENGIE is putting the final touches to £300k improvement works at eight blocks of flats in Lannerwood, North Shields.
The fire safety improvement works are being delivered by ENGIE on behalf of Karbon Homes and includes; fire stopping, upgrades to existing fire doors, upgrading fire detection and alarm systems, installation of emergency lighting and the installation of new safety signage.
Jonathan Horner, Operations Manager at ENGIE, said:
“Resident welfare has been at the core of this scheme as it is important that all households feel safe and secure in their homes.
“We have substantial experience of carrying out fire safety improvement works to existing housing stock and have delivered similar schemes where residents are still in occupation. We were pleased to bring our expertise to this project, working with Karbon to provide safe and modern homes for their tenants.”
As an industry leader, ENGIE takes all aspects of Responsible Business seriously, working with clients and local communities to improve lives through better working and living environments, leaving lasting impressions in the areas where projects are being delivered.
As part of our commitment to this project, a number of ENGIE colleagues recently partnered with Karbon to litter pick and clean up the area around the Lannerwood site.
The project started in August 2019 and will complete on 11 November 2019.
