Work begins on new homes development in Treeton

Construction work has begun on a new housing development in Treeton.

Beaumont Grange, off Wood Lane, is the fourth development to be built by Jones Homes in the village.

It will comprise a total of 94 homes, including three, four and five-bedroom properties, and 23 of the homes will be provided as affordable housing, nine of which will be starter homes, available to purchase at 80 per cent of open market value.

Planning permission for the development was granted by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council on July 12th, 2019, and the first homes are due to be completed in Spring 2021.

As part of the planning agreement for the development, Jones Homes will provide funding of around £520,000 for local services.

This investment will include £34,000 towards off site affordable housing, £165,111 for education and £47,000 towards sustainable travel for the area.

The housebuilder will also contribute around £275,000 to the council through a Community Infrastructure Levy to fund local infrastructure improvements.

Jayne Swift, Sales and Marketing Director of Jones Homes Yorkshire, said:

“We have a proud history of building in Treeton, which goes back almost 20 years to the launch of our Beaumont Park development which brought over 288 new homes to the area.

“Since then, we have successfully completed two further developments in the village, Arundel Park and Wood Lane, bringing a further 105 homes to village. Beaumont Grangefurther underlines our commitment to delivering high quality homes and investment for the area.

“Treeton is a beautiful village which benefits from excellent transport links thanks to its close proximity to the M1, making it a popular location for commuters. Beaumont Grangewill include a mix of detached, semi-detached and mews style properties, helping to meet the demand for homes in this sought-after location.”
