Travis Perkins supports Festival on the Close

Travis Perkins, which is the UK’s largest supplier of building materials, is sponsoring this year’s Festival on The Close; a major arts and education festival that runs from 25 to 29 June in the stunning grounds of Rugby School.

“We are delighted to support this great community initiative, which is positive both in terms of the ‘feel-good’ factor it generates and the impact it has on the local economy.

“As the UK’s largest distributor of materials to the building, construction and home improvement markets we have been helping to build and regenerate Britain for over 200 years. Our Head Office is located in Northampton, and while we have nationwide reach, we take pride in our local relationships, and like to keep the local communities we serve at the very heart of what we do.

“This Festival attracts thousands of visitors and inspires local children and residents to help raise their aspirations by giving access to arts and culture for free in their community through some great live performances and a wealth of free workshops, so is a great match for our own family values, and we are encouraging our colleagues across the Group to get involved,” explained Group HR Director, Carol Kavanagh.

The Festival is supported by patrons, such as English novelist and screenwriter Anthony Horowitz, OBE is and Dame Judi Dench, who said: “The way to get young people involved and interested in the theatre and the arts is to provide exciting works for them to see. I am proud to support The Festival on The Close in its work creating opportunities for young people from all backgrounds to engage with arts and culture. I wish the festival every success.”

Everyone who takes part will be supporting the Festival’s pledge to raise funds and awareness for Cancer Research UK
