Residential developer BexleyCo Homes appoints Chairman
Michael Hill, Chairman of BexleyCo Homes

Work begins to enhance green space off Old Farm Avenue, Sidcup

·         Planning permission granted for new homes at Lesney Park, Erith

Michael Hill has been appointed by BexleyCo Homes as Chairman of the board, as the residential developer embarks on an ambitious programme to deliver homes for affordable and private sale and rent across the London Borough of Bexley.

Under Michael Hill’s chairmanship, BexleyCo Homes is moving forward with its plans to create attractive new neighbourhoods, houses and apartments for local people first, whatever their needs. This will mean that buyers can remain in the area in which they grew up without giving up their ambition of owning a home.

Michael Hill’s long career in the property and development industry began in 1981, when he held the role of Housing Development Surveyor at the London Docklands Development Corporation until 1983. He then joined Countryside – one of the UK’s leading housebuilders – and retired from his role as Business Strategy Director in 2017. His appointment as Chairman is effective immediately.

Michael Hill comments:

“This is an exciting time to be appointed as Chairman. Not only will we be delivering new homes across the borough – including at our upcoming schemes in Sidcup and Lesney Park – but we’ll be making some much-needed improvements to public green spaces and other community facilities.

“BexleyCo Homes will be providing a range of homes for local people, whatever their needs or aspirations but crucially, the sale of homes will generate vital funding to be reinvested back into services and facilities for Bexley’s residents, including more affordable homes.”

BexleyCo Homes’ first scheme in Sidcup comprises 58 new houses and apartments – a mix of affordable homes and homes for sale – and work has already begun to make major enhancements to the adjacent public parkland, opening up this area of green space for more local people to enjoy.

In addition, planning permission has been granted to BexleyCo Homes for 25 new homes in Erith on Lesney Park Road. The development will include 8 one-bedroom apartments allocated to residents with learning disabilities and 17 houses for sale, as well as enhanced existing parkland.
