Local builder seeks land in Lancashire and Cumbria

Local builder seeks land in Lancashire and Cumbria

Family-owned housebuilder Jones Homes Lancashire is expanding and looking for more land to meet the growing demand for new housing in the region.

The company is already building new homes in seven locations across Lancashire and Cumbria and is aiming to increase the number of its developments across the two counties.

The housing market in the region is strong, with prices rising over the past three years, according to Rightmove – by six per cent in Lancashire and eight per cent in Cumbria.

Ralph Bacon, Regional Director of Jones Homes Lancashire, which is based in Lytham St Anne’s, said: “We’re a local builder with a good reputation seeking new land opportunities to continue our expansion and meet the need for housing in the region.

“The market here remains strong, and there’s a growing demand for new homes. As a successful, expanding company we’re looking to increase our number of sites, particularly in Cumbria, which is a growth area for us.

“Because we’re a private, family-owned company, we can make quick decisions, which makes us a good company to deal with. We carefully select sites in desirable locations where people want to live and this helps to deliver good value for landowners.”

Jones Homes is experienced in buying sites without planning permission and working through the intensive process of gaining consent, which can include conducting extensive consultation with the public and the local authority and commissioning and interpreting reports from a variety of specialist consultants.

A range of issues must be considered, from landscaping to drainage, and problems resolved before a planning application can even be submitted.

Ralph Bacon said: “We understand that the inconsistencies and red tape involved with gaining planning permission can be daunting.

“But we have a strong track record of working closely with residents, council planners and other stakeholders to make sure we can secure planning consent for potential new sites.”
