Godwin developments appoints Senior Director to support drive into build-to rent sector

NATIONAL multi-sector property developer Godwin Developments has announced the appointment of highly experienced property lead Lindsay McCombe to the position of senior development director.

Based out of the company’s Birmingham office, he will strengthen the delivery and pipeline growth of Godwin’s build-to-rent (BTR) schemes nationwide.

A member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, Lindsay has 36-years of experience within the property and construction industry, having previously led large scale projects in the UK, continental Europe and the USA, across sectors such as residential, commercial, education, retail, hospitality and education.

His impressive career record includes a range of senior and board level roles with internationally renowned property and construction consultants Gleeds, asset management firm Currie & Brown, and his own successful firm Locus Consultants.

During his time with these businesses, Lindsay led large teams and was responsible for strategic growth as well as cost and project management for a range of blue-chip clients including Deutsche Bank, Avenues The World School, Marks & Spencer plc, Prosperous Global China, Jaguar Land Rover, Ballymore & Hines, the University of Warwick, Coventry University and University College Birmingham. In his last role as Vice President of Gleeds’ New York office he also oversaw work worth $1bn on the iconic One Wall Street development.

Lindsay said: “I am thrilled to be joining the Godwin Developments team at this exciting time for the business and the UK BTR sector. Godwin’s board has an ambitious plan for expansion which aligns with the strong fundamentals of the residential sector and the proven resilience of the build-to-rent market. I am looking forward to using my knowledge and experience to advance the business and exceed client expectations.”

Stuart Pratt, group development director at Godwin Developments, added: “Lindsay’s considerable track record with prestigious large-scale projects in UK and overseas is second to none.

“The board and I are truly delighted with his appointment and the exceptional abilities he will bring to our team. Lindsay will play a strategic role in our vision for growth in the BTR sector and will strengthen our capacity to deliver more exciting new developments for investors, BTR asset managers and residents across the country.”
