Bedford Borough parks receive international accolades

Two parks in Bedford Borough have been awarded an international accolade by TripAdvisor.

Priory Country Park and Bedford Park have both received recognition in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award. The award recognises attractions held in high regard by travellers internationally. Receiving this accolade highlights both parks as great places for residents and visitors to enjoy when spending time in Bedford Borough.

The Travellers’ Choice award accumulates reviews, ratings and saves of travellers. It aims to identify the top 10% of all listings on TripAdvisor. With over 8.7 million listings on the website, winning this award demonstrates the quality of these two council maintained parks.

Mayor Dave Hodgson said, “It’s a great achievement that two of our parks have received, among other accolades, the Travellers Choice Award. We as a council are committed to promoting and maintaining our parks as great places to visit.

“We are grateful for the positive reviews left by people who have been to the parks and appreciate their importance and value to the town. I’d like to thank the council officers that work hard to ensure all our parks and open spaces are the best they can be.”

Priory Country Park has received significant recognition for a number of years. It has been awarded the ‘Certificate of Excellence’ five years in row, qualifying it for the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame. In 2019, it received the Green Flag Award for the 18th year running. Bedford Park has also received the Green Flag Award.
